These underwater sessions are mentally tough for me, & physically too. Training with a team (never train alone) allows me to imagine how far I could go, but also, that thought, “how far left to go? And how uncomfortable will it get?” makes me tense & anxious, which immediately takes oxygen/ability from me. The best thing about Hyrox has been getting stronger than I’ve ever been, & my fitness/health is up there too. I’m 43, and have loved having a new goal that ticks all those boxes as well as fun social training, motivation to a goal, a weekend away with the family for a race, & showing Maple her parents love to exercise.
