Corn Silage Harvest 2021 is behind us, and our team has turned their attention to planting thousands of acres of cover crops, high moisture corn harvest, and fifth crop alfalfa. This year's harvest went exceptionally well, and the yield was well above average. Excellent weather, cooperative machinery, and a fantastic team allowed us to harvest 6250 acres in 9 1/2 days. The excellent weather also really pushed the maturity of the corn quickly, and keeping up with the maturing crop was a challenge

🌽 Corn Silage Harvest Recap! Our corn silage harvest is officially wrapped up! This year, we harvested 65,150 tons over 3,950 acres, averaging 16.6 tons per acre — a little lower than our typical 19–21 tons per acre, but still a solid harvest considering the crazy wet them very dry weather that this years spring and summer brought us. 🙃 A huge shout out to our great harvest crew who put in the long hours, braving the schedule and weather to make sure everything was done at just the right time.
