During a bite, many sharks can extend the entire jaw structure forward, thrusting it out from the skull. It’s feeding time for the sand tiger sharks! Like all sharks, they are carnivores and eat a diet of mainly fish and crustaceans. At the aquarium we feed our sand tiger sharks squid, capelin, and herring (shown in video). With a mouthful of sharp teeth and large size, sand tiger sharks may look ferocious but are relatively docile and aren’t considered aggressive to humans.
