This parka was made by Edna Oktokiyuk (Yup’ik) around 1910 and it’s currently on display at @metmuseum . What I love about this piece is that it’s a perfect blend of utility and design. It was made out of seal intestines and auklet beaks as a waterproof overcoat to keep a more dense parka complete dry underneath.
