As of 2025, there are no officially recognised flags for the individual states or union territories of India. [1] No legal prohibitions to prevent states adopting distinctive flags exist in either the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950, or the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. The Emblem of Madhya Pradesh is the official seal of the government of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. [1] The emblem is a circular seal depicting the Lion Capital of Ashoka in front of a banyan tree. The Lion Capital and tree are supported by stalks of wheat and rice and the whole emblem is surrounded by 24 stupas figures. [2]
