WASHINGTON, Jan 7 (Reuters) - The White House is withdrawing its nomination of Ryan Baasch for a Federal Trade Commission seat and instead naming him deputy director of the National Economic Council, elevating his role in shaping tech, telecom and competition policy, a White House official told Reuters.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called it "the most significant reset of federal nutrition policy in history."

The administration has ignored requests for information about whether any asbestos safety precautions were taken.

The White House said Tuesday that it is “discussing a range of options” to acquire Greenland, making clear that utilizing the US military is not off the table.
