Sweden, Norway and Denmark will contribute around $500 million to a NATO-led initiative to supply Ukraine with U.S. weapons, including Patriot missiles, to ensure it can continue to defend itself against Russia,

Norway has announced its participation in a new defense initiative launched by the United States and NATO in July, according to the statement of the Norwegian government. The initiative refers to the PURL program (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) — a list of Ukraine’s priority needs that provides for the rapid delivery of US weapons systems,

The funding will be used to purchase arms from the United States through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said the assistance will provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs most urgently for its defense.
