The murky situation surrounding the status of Iowa women’s basketball forward Emely Rodriguez finally has a bit of clarity to it. On3’s Talia Goodman reported on Thursday afternoon that the former UCF transfer is “suspended indefinitely” for a violation of team rules and will not travel with the team to New York for the Women’s Champions Classic.
Meanwhile, Emely Rodriguez’s availability for the Iowa women’s basketball team remains a mystery. “She’s still day-to-day,” Coach Jan Jensen said during media availability Tuesday morning. In a follow-up question, Jensen was asked if Rodriguez was still a member of the team. “She is as of right now, yeah,” she said.
