Filling out his staff and figuring out how the offense is going to run are top-of-the-list items for Brian Schottenheimer.

Schottenheimer, the team’s offensive coordinator the last two seasons, has agreed to a contract to become the Cowboys head coach, the team announced Friday night. The deal is for four years, a person with knowledge of the contract told The Dallas Morning News.

A former Georgia Bulldog assistant is officially a head coach in the NFL. On Jan. 24, the Dallas Cowboys promoted former Georgia assistant Brian Schottenheimer to be their next head coach. Schottenheimer is set to replace Mike McCarthy, who was fired after five years, leading the Cowboys to a 49-35 record, including a 1-3 record in the postseason.
