Tropical Storm Erick is forecast to intensify into a hurricane as it approaches the Mexican coastline this week.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Erick has formed in the Pacific Ocean near southern Mexico.

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Erick formed early Tuesday near southern Mexico and is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said.
