A battalion chief from Kern County involved in the Canyon fire operations was seriously injured when his truck rolled over.

Saturday is an Impact Day for the Valley and Foothills as more hot temperatures are expected this afternoon. The heat wave continues though Monday and a cooling trend is forecast for midweek.
