The first storm from the tail end of an atmospheric river brought light to moderate rain throughout the Los Angeles area. A second storm is already making its way toward the region. The National Weather Service said the first storm system underperformed across most of the area.

An atmospheric river has made its way to Southern California, bringing rain to the region. With rain soaking Los Angeles County on Wednesday, areas badly hit by the Jan. 2025 wildfires must brace for possible flooding and mudslides.

After the region was devastated by three massive wildfires last month – the Palisades, Hughes and Eaton fires – crews prepared for potential debris flow in burn scar areas.
