Russia and Ukraine on Monday remained far apart on territorial issues that are blocking a peace deal, despite progress on security guarantees for Kyiv at talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Donald Trump has welcomed Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Mar-a-Lago, as the two leaders made initial comments in front of the press. Speaking on the doorstep of his club in Florida before the meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump said “we have the makings of a deal that is good for Ukraine, that is good for everybody”.

Rep. Mike Turner's response came after ABC host Jonathan Karl grilled him over Trump blaming Ukraine for initiating the war with Russia.
