NFC South race: Examining each team's remaining schedule
The more the NFC South changes, the more it stays the same. After the first 12 weeks of the 2025 NFL season, there is no clear front-runner. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost three games in a row since their 6-2 start, dropping to 6-5 following Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
NFL Week 18 is the trickiest week of the season. Teams with playoff intensity are intermixed with those simply hoping to finish the year healthy. We go game by game to see who has things to play for, either from a team perspective or based on statistical milestones.
In a three-way tiebreaker, the Panthers would win the division by virtue of the best record in the three-way round robin. By virtue of a sweep of the Falcons, the Panthers would be 3-1, and the Bucs would be 2-2.
The 8-8 Baltimore Ravens will travel to Pittsburgh to face the 9-7 Steelers in a winner-takes-all game in the AFC North. The Ravens kept their playoff hopes alive with a 41-24 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. Derrick Henry led the way for the Ravens with 216 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The Seattle Seahawks are doing everything they can to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The San Francisco 49ers are determined not to let them have it. Even after winning 13 games — including six straight — the Seahawks still need to beat the red hot 49ers in Week 18 to win the NFC West and secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
