Futures for major U.S. stock indexes are pointing toward a modestly higher open on Monday, signaling that the recent rally on Wall Street could continue. Investor sentiment has been buoyed by a surprise trade deal reached over the weekend between the U.

The moves come after the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite hit new all-time and closing highs during Monday’s trading session.

(Reuters) -Wall Street futures held steady on Friday as investors took a breather following record closes for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq in the previous session and awaited clarity on trade negotiations ahead of next week's tariff deadline.

The major index futures are currently pointing to a mixed open for the markets, with the Dow futures up by 0.1 percent but the Nasdaq futures down by 0.2 percent.

Dow Jones futures, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures, traded little changed ahead of Tuesday's open. The stock market ended mixed Monday as Wall Street reacted to the U.S.-European Union trade deal.
