First discovered: 1:04 a.m. Aug. 14 A new wildfire was reported today at 1:04 a.m. in Los Angeles County, California. King Fire has been burning on private land. Currently, there is no data indicating the containment progress of the fire and its cause remains undetermined.

The Canyon Fire, which has torched about 5,370 acres around the border between Ventura and Los Angeles counties, is close to complete containment after firefighters made significant progress on the blaze overnight, according to authorities.

The Canyon Fire in Southern California has spread to more than 5,300 acres and was 25% contained, a day after igniting outside of Piru, CA.
