Two days later, as the Giants were in the process of getting swept, Verlander came back into the spotlight while sitting in the dugout.
Bo Bichette opened the Jays’ sixth with a single and was doubled to third by Addison Barger. Webb got Joey Loperfido on an infield pop-up before Ernie Clement singled on a seven-pitch at-bat, scoring Bichette and sending Barger to third.
The Giants were hoping to come out of the All-Star break refreshed and ready to open the second half on a strong note. Instead, they ended up departing Canada mired in their longest skid of the season.

Addison Barger hit a two-run home run, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer added hit solo shots and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the San Francisco Giants 8-6 to complete a three-game sweep and match a franchise record with their 10th consecutive home win.
Additionally, right-handed reliever Tristan Beck was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento after throwing 6 2/3 innings of relief in a four-day span. Right-handers Carson Seymour and Sean Hjelle were recalled from Sacramento in a corresponding move.
The issue in Boston began in February when the Red Sox signed third baseman Alex Bregman, pushing Devers to a designated hitter-only role. Devers publicly rebuked the organization for taking him away from third base, where he has struggled defensively throughout his career even as his bat has earned him three All-Star appearances.
Willy Adames' heroics weren't enough to prevent the San Francisco Giants from losing 6-3 to the Blue Jays on Saturday at Rogers Centre to drop the first series of the second half.
