UCF softball splits doubleheader, dropping nightcap to No. 12 Georgia
UCF opened the season with a split during the first day of the Black & Gold Classic at UCF Softball Complex. The Knights dominated CSU Bakersfield in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader before dropping the nightcap against No. 12 Georgia 4-0.
The Knights, who have eight newcomers, face a schedule with 10 games against teams ranked in the preseason top 25.
The fifth-ranked Texas A&M softball remains hot with a lopsided victory over UCF. Aggies have started the season 8-0.
UCF will try to snap a five-game streak at the expense of Colorado, which has lost all 13 Big 12 games thus far.
