Picket signs in hand and chants filling the crisp morning air, union members across Boulder and Broomfield counties began forming picket lines at 5 a.m. Thursday outside of local King Soopers stores.

Thursday is day one of union members striking at 77 King Soopers stores across the Denver metro area. Workers are asking customers not to cross the picket line as they demand better conditions.
