Senator Bill Cassidy (R) is a former doctor. He was elected to the Senate in 2015 after serving in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Louisiana State Senate. He is chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Louisiana has six seats in the House of Representatives, four Republican and two Democrat.
