Mae Sot's roads were jammed with vehicles from Myanmar seeking to refill their tanks, as oil prices in Myawaddy soared to 70 baht per litre. Local stations on the Thai side saw heavy traffic after power and oil cuts in Myanmar.
Thailand will study the feasibility of building a wall along part of its border with Cambodia to prevent illegal crossings, government spokesman Jirayu Houngsub said on Monday.
