President Vance are standing by Hegseth despite the swirling controversy over his handling of the Defense Department.

The Pentagon set up a system in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's office that enabled him to check messages on the encrypted messaging app Signal while at the office, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.

The defense secretary had an internet connection that bypassed the Pentagon’s security protocols set up in his office, allowing him to use Signal on a personal computer.
