“A very cold start to the day, and the cold conditions will continue right into early next week,” the National Weather service said early Saturday. “A weak system moving nearby tonight could produce some light snow mostly north of I-78. Any snow accumulation will be limited to a coating.”

ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — While nearly all of Northeast Ohio is waking up to calm weather conditions this morning, some lake effect snow is impacting Ashtabula County. That’s why the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for just Ashtabula County until 1 p.m.

A more intense round of snow arrives Wednesday afternoon as an Arctic front moves through the region. Conditions could produce snow squalls with localized heavier snow showers. Accumulations will vary due to the scattered nature of the snow, but most areas should see another half inch to 2 inches by early evening.

A little bit of snow is possible on New Year's Eve in New Hampshire, according to the National Weather Service (NWS), with a little more than an inch expected in Portsmouth. A clipper system is expected to bring between 1 to 3 inches of light snow tonight through New Year's Day morning.
