After the Houston Astros held a defensive session practicing cut-offs and relay throws on a back field at their spring training complex Friday morning, Jose Altuve walked to the dugout with the position group he has occupied early in camp.

As Jose Altuve continues to learn a new position in left field, the Astros agreed to a minor league deal with second baseman Brendan Rodgers.

Longtime Astros reporter Chandler Rome told Foul Territory on Tuesday that Altuve has exclusively played left field to start spring training. Both Altuve and the Astros signaled during the offseason a position change could happen if it meant Alex Bregman would return to Houston.
