FAYETTEVILLE — John Calipari was apologetic following his first SEC win as Arkansas’ basketball coach Wednesday. The Razorbacks’ 68-65 victory over Georgia at Bud Walton Arena snapped a five-game losing streak that began Jan. 4 at Tennessee. The 0-5 start to conference play was Arkansas’ worst since joining the SEC in 1991-92.

John Calipari and Arkansas will be in Lexington for a 9 p.m. showdown with Kentucky on Saturday night — but they won't exactly be striking fear into anyone. Arkansas is 12-8 overall, just 1-6 in the SEC, and recently lost point guard Boogie Fland (a former Kentucky signee) for the season.

After seven days of rest, Oklahoma will battle a team whose start mirrors the Sooners. OU faces Arkansas on Saturday after having a conference bye earlier in the week. Both the Sooners and Razorbacks picked up their first SEC wins in their last games.
