As a cold snap takes over Central Florida and sends feels-like temperatures into the 20s and 30s, counties all over the area are opening warming shelters to protect those in need. Here's a list of cold weather shelters opening soon.

As temperatures drop dangerously low across the Sunshine State, some county officials in South Florida and the Treasure Coast are opening cold weather shelters.

Channel 9 is contacting county leaders around Central Florida to gather more details on shelters opening this week. Two cold-weather shelters will open on Thursday and Friday evenings, providing refuge for people experiencing homelessness. Doors will open at 6 p.m. to offer overnight shelter Thursday and Friday.
