Thursday is starting out very warm and windy in North Texas with temperatures in the mid- to upper 60s, more than 20 degrees warmer the same time on Wednesday.

Winds are picking up across north Texas this morning due to an approaching storm system. This system at mid-levels is sparking showers and storms to our west and our north this morning, but is expected to move east through the day.

Sunday is starting somewhat sunny with day temperatures topping out at 79 degrees and wind gusts as high as 45 mph.

After a warm weekend, North Texas is feeling a cooldown that will ultimately be short-lived. Much of the region woke up to temperatures in the 30s on Monday, Dec. 29, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Monday’s daily high will kick around the mid-40s with sunny skies overhead.
