The News10NBC red alert continues tonight into Monday as an area wide heavy snowfall blankets all of Western New York. At times, the snow has been accumulating at the rate of one and half inches per hour with visibility falling to near a quarter mile.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Snow began to fall early Sunday across Western New York, and in most places, it continued well into Sunday night. A Winter Storm Warning remained in place for all counties in Western New York until 7 p.m. Monday. Most of the snow was expected to fall during the day Sunday, with it tapering off at night.
The New York City tri-state area could see over a foot of snow for the first time since 2021, when over 17 inches was recorded.
