Multiple areas of the United States have been buried in heavy snowfall throughout the past month, from the Great Lakes to New York. Now, the National Weather Service has issued an urgent storm warning for parts of California.

A major winter storm is pummeling the Tri-State Area with snow and ice after New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency.

Wayne and northern Cayuga Counties may see 1-to-2 feet of snow, with up to three feet locally. Travel will be “very difficult to impossible in the heaviest bands of snow with near zero visibility and deep snow cover on roads,” says the NWS Buffalo office.
