The Riverton, WY office of the National Weather Service is calling for dangerous weather to hit the area in the coming days. A winter storm warning is in effect through early Monday morning as heavy snowfall and dangerous winds draw near.
A system will bring heavy mountain snow the MT/ID border tonight into Wednesday morning. Only light accumulations are expected in the valleys.
The combination of heavy snow, higher accumulations, blowing snow, lowered visibility, and possible power outages gives this system the potential to be messy. Predicted accumulations currently range from 4-7 inches across the Fox Valley and Lakeside to 8-12+ inches in the Northwoods.
