It will be a messy forecast today as an icy mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow will move through the metro starting around noon.
"Snow, ice & rain" in the forecast Tuesday night could lead to a slick Wednesday morning commute, according to Boston area meteorologists.
A pair of storm systems sweeping across the country this week will bring snow, ice and thunderstorms, forecasters said.
A wintry mix is on the way for tonight & Tuesday. The bulk of the precipitation will fall in the form of freezing rain or rain & that will produce icy conditions.
"We have some icy conditions coming in Tuesday night. We are going to be talking about some rain and some freezing rain," StormTeam 5 Chief Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon said.
Freezing rain and an icy mix continues to fall and build up to start off Monday morning. Power outages are certainly possible throughout the day as well.
Much of the GTA is under a freezing rain yellow warning this morning as a messy mix of winter weather arrives Monday.
High pressure will bring "some" sunshine to the area by late morning or afternoon. Highs will be in the 30s through Friday, with some 40s possible.
