Kevin Warsh is taking another step toward his decade-long goal of winning the top job at the Federal Reserve by appearing at a hearing before the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday.

If confirmed, Warsh would take the helm at the Federal Reserve at a crucial time for the economy, with inflation still stubborn and at risk of reigniting if the war with Iran drags on.
