The Boston Red Sox will open the season with three starting pitchers on the injured list after right-hander Lucas Giolito strained his left hamstring. Giolito left his first spring training start against Philadelphia on Tuesday after one inning when his hamstring tightened.

Brayan Bello, the Opening Day starter for the Red Sox last season, won't be ready for the start of the 2025 season because of soreness in his shoulder.

While the Red Sox have not publicly commented on what role Rafael Devers will serve this season, the slugger confirmed to reporters that a decision has already been made.
