An announcement was just made that the Auburn football program will play Notre Dame in a home-and-home matchup in the 2027 season and the 2028 season as part of their out of conference schedule.

Notre Dame's addition amplifies a presumed gauntlet for Auburn under the SEC's new scheduling model. The Tigers are hosting Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas A&M in 2027, as well as traveling to Texas.
