The Steam Deck is a very popular (and good!) handheld gaming device that lets you play many of your favorite PC games on the go. But what if it was a screenless console you had to plug into a TV to use? Well, someone ripped their own Steam Deck apart to make just that and called it a “Steam Brick.”

This modder removed the display and controls from a Steam Deck OLED, placing what remains inside a 3D-printed case to make it even smaller.

So one hardware hacker decided to shrink the Steam Deck… by taking away the screen, controllers, and just about everything else that makes the Steam Deck a mobile device. The result is a mini PC that’s amusingly dubbed the “ Steam Brick .” It can do everything the Steam Deck does… but only after you plug in a display and controllers.
