The shooting happened in the 400 block of First Street after officers responded to a 911 call about 5 p.m. regarding a person armed with at least one knife inside a home, according to a statement from the Richmond Police Department. Police said the initial report indicated the person was threatening to kill his mother and brother.

Two officers shot and killed a person who was allegedly armed with at least one knife and was making threats to kill people from inside a residence on Monday, Richmond police said.
