A total lunar eclipse was visible across North America overnight Wednesday (March 13 to 14, 2025), including this unique perspective from Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

A rare blood moon lunar eclipse — which hasn’t happened in the U.S. since 2022 — was visible for skywatchers across most of North and South America, as well as the west side of Africa and Europe, the eastern parts of Australia and Russia and northern Japan.

The first total lunar eclipse in more than two years lit up the sky last night as humanity, forever fascinated with the Earth’s only natural satellite, watched.
