TOKYO: A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack on Wednesday near Nagano Station, where three people were stabbed, leaving one dead and two injured, local media reported Sunday (Jan 26).

Authorities in Japan say one person is dead and two others are injured after a knife attack Wednesday night outside a train station in Nagano.

Japanese police said Sunday they had arrested a man over a stabbing at a train station which left one person dead and two wounded. The Wednesday evening attack outside the JR Nagano Station in central Japan was a rare case of violent crime in the country.

One person was killed and two hurt in a stabbing attack Wednesday at Japan's JR Nagano train station. One woman and two men were waiting for a bus on the station's north side when they were attacked.
