A former Miami Heat security officer has been accused in federal court of stealing millions of dollars worth of team memorabilia — including a game-worn LeBron James jersey from the 2013 NBA Finals — and selling them to online brokers.

Marcos Thomas Perez, a 62-year-old former Heat security guard and longtime Miami police officer, appeared in federal court Tuesday on charges that he stole and resold hundreds of pieces of game-worn memorabilia, including jerseys worn by some of the NBA’s biggest stars.

The most notable piece Perez is alleged to have stolen is forward LeBron James's jersey from Game 7 of the 2013 Finals. In that game, James scored 37 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to propel the Heat to a 95–88 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
