Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell repeated on Wednesday that the central bank is in no rush to cut interest rates during a congressional hearing convened shortly after data showed U.S. consumer prices rose faster than expected in January in a sign progress on inflation may remain stalled.

Stefanik, who represents the state’s 21 st Congressional District, has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.N. ambassador and her nomination was moved forward by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. If the full Senate confirms her appointment, she would have to resign her seat in Congress to take up the new post.

Kathy Hochul persuaded the State Legislature to delay any action on the proposal. The bill would require all special elections to fill vacated state and congressional seats to be held on Election Day in November.
