Colorado Springs voters will once again decide this spring whether recreational marijuana sales should be permitted in the state’s second-largest city — less than five months after they voted in favor of such sales.

The Colorado Springs City Council voted 7-2 to put forth a ballot question about the sale of recreational marijuana in the upcoming municipal election.

On Tuesday, the Colorado Springs City Council voted seven to two to put recreational marijuana back on the ballot for April 1.

The man killed by a flying weight thrown off-course during a Sunday high school track-and-field meet in Colorado Springs was a 57-year-old father there to watch his son compete, El Paso County coroner officials said.

The fatal incident occurred at the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs campus around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
