Texas ranch trader and big game hunter Asher Watkins, 52, was killed by a Cape buffalo in an 'unprovoked attack' while hunting the animal.

Asher Watkins, 52, was on a guided safari hosted by Coenraad Vermaak Safaris in South Africa’s Limpopo Province on Aug. 3 when the animal fatally gorged him, the safari company said Thursday in a statement obtained by multiple outlets.

Asher Watkins, a millionaire rancher from Texas, had his life cut short after falling victim to a buffalo attack. Before his demise, the rancher, also a trophy hunter, had traveled to South Africa for a hunting trip.
