"With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and 'Today' co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma ," Savannah Guthrie said on the " Today " show on May 23.

After sharing the news of Sheinelle Jones’ husband’s death, “Today Show” co-hosts Carson Daly and Savannah Guthrie shared messages to Jones’ three kids. Both Daly and Guthrie lost their respective fathers at a young age. Daly explained he was 5 years old when his father died; Guthrie was 16.
